Star of the North Book Award
The Star of the North Picture Book Award was established in 2013 to promote quality, engaging picture books and reading for pleasure among school-aged children. Throughout the year, teachers, media specialists, and public librarians read the nominees aloud and develop activities that connect the literature to the curriculum. In March, K-2 students across the state vote on which book they think should be the big winner. The winner is announced in April with the nominees for the next year.
